Shadow Mode

Shadow mode lets Kyra observe and evaluate tool calls without taking action. Calls that would be blocked or escalated are logged — but the agent proceeds normally.

Use it to:

• Validate that your policies behave as expected before going live
• Onboard without risk to production agent operations
• Understand your agent's authorization boundary behavior

Enabling shadow mode

Agents → [your agent] → Mode → Shadow

Shadow mode is the default for new agents on the Free plan.

What you see

The dashboard shows every shadow evaluation under Audit → Shadow Events:

• Which calls would have been blocked and why
• Which would have been escalated and to whom
• Which passed without issue

Switching to enforce mode

When satisfied with your policy configuration, switch to Enforce mode in the dashboard. Kyra will then actively block and escalate as configured.

You can switch back to shadow mode at any time.

Billing

Evaluations in shadow mode count toward your monthly evaluation usage.
